Why is a Menckxist? Am I a Menckxist? Is the Menckxism calling from inside the house? Is it more than a stupid portmanteau of ‘Mencken’ and ‘Marxist’?
Yes. Definitely. Maybe. Not really, no.
Every ‘netizen’ needs a nom de plume, and this one is mine. Whenever I am stuck in the twilight between ‘production’ and ‘consumption’, my hopes and fears tremble between the siren’s songs of Nietzschean self-actualization of individual freedom (H.L. Mencken) and a collective, Marxist, breaking-of-the-chains – most of which are self-imposed. But like ‘history’ this is just a retroactive explanation.
‘Menckxism’ is whatever coherency coagulates from the posts on this little website, which is mine. There is little to see here, even less to do. But it is mine and it is not part of any social media platform.
